The common theory to how Sungai Ujong Road got its name is that it was derived from the place Sungai Ujong in Negri Sembilan. However, a more obscure and likely reason for this name is that Sungai Ujong translates into the vernacular Malay (bahasa pasar) as "end of river".
Recently, the traffic jam of the road in the Penang Island came to be caused frequently. The reason is that an increase of car, there are not a planning for new road and new public transportation systems. In the days of 2008 that we settled down in Penang, we saw the picture of the monorail systems on a brochure for sale of a certain condominium. When that was completed, the plan was called off for some political reason. The Penang Island has only bus as a public transportation system now. Soon, the road congestion will be often caused. The circulation speed of a person and the things becomes slow, It leads to rotary speed of the money becoming slow. In other words, It means that the traffic jam influences economic effect directly.
