By profession I am an Architect and have worked in architectural design firms in Japan for some 20 years, and subsequently, after obtaining my PhD in Engineering. I was attached to various universities in Japan and Canada as a professor for another 20 years.

Upon my retirement, I relocated to Penang and have been living here since October 2008. Through I am an Architect by profession, I have always been very passionate about art and heritage preservation. I’m pretty much a self-taught artist and through the years have spent some time traveling in Japan and the other countries to try to capture as much as possible the unique heritage and culture of the places I visited.

From the moment I stepped on to the shores of Penang Island. I was extremely fascinated by this exotic island which is so deep in tradition and culture. It’s people are especially worm and friendly and felt that my wife and I have made the right decision to relocate to Penang to spend our retirement years! The landscape of Penang are indeed fascinating. Each time I traverse through the streets of Penang to paint. I would feel a burst of exhilaration running through my blood. To describe this passion, I would say it is almost the same feeling as when I met my first lover! Therefore. I hope to able to share my passion through my Sketches and paintings of Penang Island, especially Georgetown.
