China Street is one of the commercial streets in George Town. This Street is said to have been established by Koh Lay Huan, the Chinese community leader and pioneer settler who had arrived with Francis Light when the latter landed in Penang in 1786.
When I was sketching on this street in 2009, I met a student who was learning design. This meeting led me to become a lecturer of Equator Academy of Art in Penang from next year 2010. China Street was “coincident human relations spot” for me.
