Beach Street is one of the oldest streets in George Town. It was built as early as 1786 or 1787, subsequent to Light Street, to be the main commercial street of the newly established George Town. It is older and has been around longer than many of the towns on the Malayan Peninsula including Singapore, Taiping, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.
There are many banks and fashionable commercial buildings in this financial district that was designed by European architects in the early days. Especially, I am interested in “How to redevelop-repair and use these traditional type buildings- as one of world heritage town. I think you may enjoy at the shops and in the restaurants like as colonoial age’s Europian !
